| The traditional Exegetics study of Chinese vocabulary is mostly used for interpretation,and its study for vocabulary system is scattered and isolated,which lacks of historical development concepts and has limited the in-depth study of the history of Chinese vocabulary to some degree.This article sorts out and describes the concept field of diets from the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Sui Dynasty to the period of the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties,combining Concept fields theory,synchronic investigation and diachronic comparison,quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis,inductive and comparative methods to analyze the development of the concept field of diets from the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Sui Dynasty to the period of the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties as well as compare the differences between the two.This article investigates the concept field of diets from the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Sui Dynasty to the period of the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties.In the investigation,the names of diets are studied by selecting corpora with strong colloquial nature in these two periods.The first was to investigate the use of the names of diets in these two periods;the second was to investigate the regional differences between the two periods;The third was to investigate the historical evolution from the Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Sui Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties,that is,what words did the latter inherit from the former? What new words did the latter produce? From the Southern and Northern Dynasties to Sui Dynasty,what words disappeared when it developed into the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties? At the same time,the reasons for these phenomena also would be discussed,and all these are the contents that would be examined considerably in this thesis.First of all,this article investigates the use and geographical differences of the names of diets in the South and the North accordingly in the period of the Southern and Northern Dynasties and the Sui Dynasty.Through the investigation on the selected literature,a total of 50 words of food and meals,48 words of vegetables and fruits,54 words of livestock and fishery,87 words of oil and fat seasoning,and 91 words of beverage dishes were collected which belong to the North.At the same time,24 words of food and meals,30 words of vegetables and fruits,25 words of livestock and fishery,14 words of oil and fat seasoning,and 23 words of beverage dishes also were collected which belong to the South.Furthermore,through an in-depth comparison,it was found that there were 6 same words of food and meals in the both during the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Sui Dynasty,44 unique words in the north,and 18 unique words in the south.There are 12 words of vegetables and fruits that are the same in the both,36 words that are unique in the north,and 18 words in the south.There are 8 same words of livestock and fishery in the both,46 unique words in the north,and 17 unique words in the south.There are 10 same words of the oil and fat seasoning in the both,77 unique words in the north,and 4 words in the south.There are 4 words of drinks and dishes that are the same in the both,88 words that are unique in the north,and 19 words in the South.The reasons for the differences between the north and the south are discussed as follows: 1.Inheritance of ancient crops;2.Differences in regional climate between the north and the south;3.Results of ethnic integration.Secondly,this thesis makes a study of the use of the names of diets in the period of the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties.Through the investigation of the selected literature,a total of 72 words of food and meals,91 words of vegetables and fruits,80 words of livestock and fishery,42 words of oil and fat seasoning,and 92 words of beverage dishes were collected.Thirdly,from the diachronic perspective,this article makes a detailed comparison of the differences of the names of diets between the two periods and gives analyzation from inheritance,addition,disappearance and simultaneous synonym with different names.By comparison,it found that during the period of the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties 24 words of food and meals were inherited,50 words were added,and 44 words disappeared.Among the words of vegetables and fruits: 37 words were inherited,57 words were added,and 29 words disappeared.Among the words of livestock and fishery: 34 words were inherited,47 words were added,and 39 words disappeared.Among the words of the oil and fat seasoning: 20 words were inherited,24 words were added,and 70 words disappeared.Among the words of beverage dishes: 21 words were inherited,72 words were added,and 90 words disappeared.It also summarizes the characteristics of diachronic evolution as stability,innovation,nationality and simultaneous synonym with different names.Finally,this article reviews the reasons for the evolution of the names of diets over time from social external factors including the development of agricultural by social stability and sideline industries,the development of diets by the pursuit of beauty for the diets to the internal factors including language self-regulation and the need for vocabulary clarity.Diets has always been an important aspect of people's daily life from ancient times to the present,and it carries important scent of the times and regional characteristics.Lots of names in the concept field of diets is an important component of Chinese language.Due to many factors such as changes in the times,ethnic intermingling,and the development of Chinese language itself,these names of diets also have many changes from the late Middle Chinese to the early stage of modern Chinese.The study of the names in the concept field of diets is an important part of Chinese vocabulary,and also is an important aspect of constructing the history of scientific Chinese language,which has its theoretical significance certainly. |
