Public archaeology is concerned with the effective integration and utilization of social resources in the process of socialization so as to protect archaeological resources and cultural heritage for the public.Through literature research and quantitative analysis of the development process of public archaeology in China and abroad,we found the public archaeology based on the needs of the development of archaeology discipline itself and the process of social development developed in stages with the development of information technology and has gained its popularity and diversity.It is found that the application of new media in public archaeology is sufficient and extensive.The public's demand and expectation for the public archaeological new media platform lies in better interactivity and interest as well as more humanized services.The key to the combination of public archaeology and new media lies in the progress of information exchange,including the improvement of information transmission efficiency,and the change from the mode of one-way passive receiving of information to the mode of an active participation way.I developed a WeChat applet of public archaeology for students majored in archaeology and people who are interested in archeology and museums,which can meet the basic needs of users to obtain information,interact and personalize.On the premise of ensuring professionalism,public archaeological subjects should expand the content diversity and friendliness of archaeological cultural materials and resources,and carry out cross-platform collaborative operation through new media matrix,so as to spread public archaeological information and improve public awareness and cultural literacy of cultural relics protection and integrate public archaeological culture into the lives of modern humans...
