The "Puzzle" Of Modernist Literature In Hong Kong(1955-1970)

Modernism literature,as an important part in the development of Hong Kong literature,has always been highly valued and studied,but there are also many unresolved problems.Hong Kong local young writers Kunnan,Wang Wuxie,and Li Yinghao had showed a high enthusiasm for modernism from the beginning.They published a large number of works in The New Trend of Lite,-ature and Art,and later founded the Modern Literature and Art Association,The New Trend of Thought and The Cape of Good Hope.And they through a lot of translation,introduction and creation,spare no effort to propagate and practice modernist literature,regarding it as the "dream" of literature that they strives to pursue and realize.But with the passage of time,the attitudes of the three of them towards modernist literature have also changed:from the initial enthusiasm and firmness,they gradually turned into suspicion and retreat,eventually even abandoned modernist literature and embarked on another article with it.The diametrically opposite path behind this phenomenon seems to imply the "confusion" of modernist literature in the field of Hong Kong.Therefore,this study uses the attitudes and creative changes of the main members of the Modern Literature and Art Association:Kunnan,Li Yinghao and Wang Wuxie in the pursuit of the "dream" of modernist literature as the starting point to explore the"confusion" of modernist literature in Hong Kong,to understand the plight of Hong Kong 's serious literature in its development,and then to perceive its value.This article is divided into seven parts,including the introduction part,the main body of the four chapters and the main conclusion part.The introduction is divided into three parts.The first part discusses the research origin,research objects and significance of the thesis,macroscopically clarifies the entry point and key points of the research;the second part is the Modern Literature and Art Association and Kunnan,Wang Wuxie;the research status of Li Yinghao and the three people are reviewed to clarify the innovation and value of this research.Finally,through the elaboration of the research ideas,the structure and reasons of the paper are explained.The first chapter discusses the literary situation in Hong Kong in the 1950s in detail,focusing on the publication of the poetry and the new trend of literature and art to understand how the "dream" of literature pursued by Kunnan,Wamg Wuxie and Li Yinghao sprout and grow.This chapter focuses on the conditions and background of the rise of modernist literature in Hong Kong in the 1950s,and through the analysis of the creative situation of Kunnan and Wang Wuxie during this period,knowing the enthusiasm of them about the modern literature at the beginning of the "dream".The second chapter discusses the creation process of Modern Literature and Art Association and the New Trend of Thought.By analyzing the reasons why Kunnan and Wang Wuxie chose the two forms of "literature" and "fine art",and then understand the political consciousness and the literature of the two people behind the Modern Literature and Fine Arts Association through the modernism to launch the"cultural reconstruction movement" Report negative.Secondly,to discuss the theoretical line that the "Modern Literary and Art Association" has to take in order to realize this literary journal's during this period,it was concluded that after the establishment of the "Modern Literature and Art Association",Kunnan and Wang Wuxie doubted literature and self-power.Chapter 3 reveals the undulation of the "dream" of Kunnan literature behind the publication of The Cape of Good Hope through the suspension and reorganization of the "Modern Literature and Fine Arts Association",and the many aspects such as the economic and social background,cultural environment and the limitations of Hong Kong's modernist literature This angle explores the reason why the "dream" shakes.In addition,Li Yinghao,who joined the "Modern Literary and Art Association" at that time,elaborated on the enthusiasm,achievements and ideas of modernist criticism in order to contrast with the shaking back of Kunnan and Wang Wuxie at this time.The fourth chapter analyzes the creative changes of Kunnan,Wang Wuxie,and Li Yinghao after the dissolution of the "Modern Literature and Art Association",and clarifies the fall and performance of the "dream" of the three-person literature at this stage,and combines the three-person literature.The commonality of time in the paper explores the impact of the economic and social background of the 1960s and personal reflection on the development of modernist literature.The conclusion summarizes the whole article,from the main members of the"Modern Literature and Art
