Since the reform of the new curriculum,English curriculum has already received much attention in the compulsory education elementary school,and the vocabulary teaching has received the enthusiastic attention of scholars.Vocabulary teaching can promote and improve students 'listening,speaking,reading,and writing skills.Paying attention to the quality of vocabulary teaching is one of the core elements in improving students' comprehensive ability to use language in English courses.However,in the process of vocabulary teaching in the subject of English in primary schools,there are still problems that focus only on the pronunciation,spelling,and meaning of the vocabulary,and ignore the comprehensive use of vocabulary.Some teachers believe that if students accumulate a large amount of vocabulary,they represent mastery of vocabulary knowledge and can improve their academic performance.Although this method of mechanically teaching vocabulary has improved students' vocabulary to a certain extent,it has prompted students to ignore the connection between words and words,which has made it difficult for students to form a holistic language system,and naturally they have lost their counterparts ability to use vocabulary in context.Project-based learning is one of the new teaching modes,which breaking the traditional classroom teaching concept and helping students integrate various skills in the process of participating in project activities.However,few scholars have introduced project-based learning models into English vocabulary teaching.This research will introduce project-based learning into primary school English vocabulary teaching,explores the teaching effect of project-based learning in primary English vocabulary teaching,to find the best teaching path for primary school English vocabulary teaching,and improves the efficiency of vocabulary teaching.This article uses literature research to summarize the research results of domestic and foreign scholars on project-based learning,combs the discovery learning theory and multiple intelligence theory,and then shows the design ideas of three project-based learning applied to primary school English vocabulary teaching,using experimental research methods to analyze and compare the impact of project-based learning mode and traditional teaching mode on students' vocabulary ability.After research,it is found that the project-based learning mode has a more obvious effect on primary school English vocabulary teaching than the traditional teaching mode.It can effectively improve students 'spelling,spelling,reading comprehension and writing ability,and then enhance students' comprehensive English use ability.At the same time,students are interested in learning English vocabulary.Project-based learning is a useful supplement to the existing vocabulary teaching model.
