The issue of "three teachings" of teachers,teaching materials and teaching methods has always been a matter of great concern to Chinese international education scholars.The production-oriented approach(hereinafter referred to as POA),as an innovative teaching method for English second language teaching,has been proved by relevant studies in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.It involves the compilation of textbooks and the adaptation of teaching methods,but research on the development of teachers,especially the development of novice teachers,is relatively rare.Research on the development of novice teachers 'teaching beliefs in output-oriented spoken language teaching helps to deepen the understanding of POA theory and teachers'teaching beliefs,and it has both theoretical and practical significance.In theory,it complements and improves the introduction of POA theory in international Chinese teaching.In practice,studying the development of teaching beliefs under the POA theory is conducive to the training of Chinese teachers.It also helps Chinese teachers,especially novice Chinese teachers,to accept this emerging theory.This article adopts a qualitative research method to observe and analyze the history of the two international Chinese novice teachers before and after the implementation of POA teaching.By collecting original materials through teachers' self-reflection,classroom observation and in-depth interview,this paper makes an in-depth exploration of the development of teachers' POA belief,aiming to study the following questions:(1)What's the development process of novice teachers' POA beliefs?And what are the characteristics of novice teachers in the development of POA beliefs?(2)What factors are related to the development of novice teachers' POA beliefs?The main findings of the study are as follows:(1)The POA beliefs of the two novice teachers have both commonality and personality.The common features are:in the early stage of POA teaching,the POA beliefs of novice A and novice B began to form;in the middle of the POA experiment,the POA beliefs of the two novice teachers further developed.Personality manifests as follows:In the late stage of POA teaching,the novice A's POA beliefs continued to develop,and the novice B's POA beliefs experienced a stagnation and further development process.(2)The development of the two novice teachers' POA beliefs has its own emphasis.Specifically,Novice A's"learning and integration" teaching beliefs,driving teaching beliefs,and promoting teaching beliefs continue to develop and gradually strengthen in there three stages.But the teaching and learning beliefs are on the wane.Novice A's POA belief continues to develop in a spiraling upward trend.Novice B's "learning and using one"teaching belief,driving teaching belief,promoting teaching belief,and teaching learning belief gradually builds up in the first two stages.However,after the teaching experiment,the POA belief of novice B shows a short lull and then in-depth development.The belief development trend of Novice B is to strengthen first and then stagnate and then deepen.(3)The factors affecting the development of novice teachers' POA beliefs are "teaching effect","teacher ability","teaching object","training characteristics" and "teaching and research environment".Among them,the"teaching effect" of traditional teaching and the "teacher ability" of novice teachers are factors that promote the development of teachers 'POA beliefs."Teaching objects","training characteristics" and "teaching and research environment" determine whether teachers' POA beliefs can be further developed.
