Longxing Monastery in Zhengding is the largest and most complete monastery in the Northern Song Dynasty in China.In-depth study is helpful to understand planning and the religious thoughts of monastery in the same period.Based on the above starting point,this article focuses on the analysis of age and religious design concept of each single building in Longxing Monastery,explores the overall pattern of Longxing Monastery in different periods.Taking the Moni Hall which was the central hall of Longxing Monastery in the Northern Song Dynasty as the object of study,the construction of its overall etiquette space is identified from the perspective of buildings,statues and murals.First of all,explores column net,also concluding roof and dougong bracket of Moni Hall,and combines the specific social and historical background to understand the external image design.Secondly,compares the styles of statues and murals in this region and a wider area,this article discusses the age characteristics of the statues and murals of Moni Hall,and identifies the internal images and religious design concepts in different periods of Moni Hall.Finally,makes clear the setting of the worship field of Moni Hall,discusses the relationship between the worship field and worshippers,and interprets process of Moni Hall and Longxing Monastery after the early construction of the Northern Song Dynasty and the overhaul of the Ming Dynasty.
