Study Of Aesthetic Representation Of Chinese Translation Of Wilde's Fairy Tales

Fairy tale is an important genre of children's literature.This kind of work shapes the image and reflects life through rich imagination,exaggeration and symbolism.Oscar Wilde only created nine fairy tales in his life,but he showed a unique Wilde-style aestheticism.His works are regarded as classics of children's literature.As an important representative of aestheticism,Wilde's fairy tales embody the elements of aesthetics everywhere.And translation aesthetics theory has a unique fit with Wilde's aesthetic thoughts.This theory regards literary works as a collection of aesthetics of formal system and non-formal system,and the task of translation is to reproduce aesthetic information at different levels of the two systems.Based on the translation aesthetics theory,this thesis selects Zhu Chunshen's Chinese translation of Wilde's fairy tales published in 2017 as the research text,and analyzes and interprets the aesthetic characteristics of Zhu's translation from two aspects:formal system and non-formal system.Through analysis and summary,this study holds that Zhu Chunshen's Chinese translation reproduces the aesthetic elements of Wilde's fairy tales.In the process of translation,Zhu Chunshen pays attention to the faithful and elegant transformation of aesthetic information,emphasizing the beauty of the sound,the beauty of the word,the beauty of the sentence,the beauty of the image,the beauty of the artistic conception and the beauty of the style.The translation mainly adopts the strategy of literal translation,supplemented by free translation,and other necessary means such as addition and deletion,so that the translation is basically faithful to the original text.At the same time,Zhu Chunshen emphasizes the importance of the principle of creative translation.When the principle of faithfulness cannot be realized,the translator should select the appropriate representation strategies by exploiting the advantage of the target language to cater to the target language culture and target readers.In addition,the applicability and effectiveness of translation aesthetics in translation studies and practice have been well explained,which provides some reference and guidance for the future studies and practice of fairy tales translation and even literary translation.
