Since implementation of the New Chinese Proficiency Test(New HSK),the a-chievement has become an important reference for graduation,further study,and em-ployment of non-native Chinese speakers.Therefore,the New HSK has a great infl-uence on both non-native learners and teachers.Using the backwash effect of the New HSK on Chinese teaching can not only further improve the Chinese level of non-native learners,but also help Chinese teachers to rethink their work and imp-rove teaching quality.At present,there is few domestic research on how the backw-ash effect of language skills,such as listening,speaking,reading,and writing affects t-he teaching effectiveness of New HSK.However,listening and speaking,of which students are relatively afraid,are the key points of communication and application.The purpose of this paper is to work out the backwash effect of New HSK Lev-el V listening test acting on listening teaching.The paper introduces the "backwash effect" theory to foreign Chinese teachin-g from abroad,aiming to analyze under trial and conversely direct teaching.Here the issues below will be mainly discussed in the paper:1.Various types of errors in the New HSK Level V listening made by differ-ent groups of international students and the corresponding causes.2.With investigating and analyzing the actual backwash effect acted by New HSK level V's listening part on listening teaching and leaming,finding out the ty-pes and relative countermeasures of the backwash effect.3.Point out the problems of outline and propose a few suggestions for impro-vement,providing innovative directions for future teaching and research.4.Aiming at the types of errors in the New HSK Level V listening test and its backwash effect on teaching,put forward feasibility suggestions to enable stude-nts and teachers to make full use of the positive backwash effect of the New H-SK for better learning and teaching.The paper mainly uses methods of literature research,questionnaire investigati-on,teaching experiment,class observation and contrast analysis.Corpus sources of th-e paper include:five sets of New HSK level V listening exam questions(2018),Ne-w HSK level V vocabulary outline,New HSK level V listening test backwash eff-ect questionnaire(student),and New HSK level V listening test backwash effect qu-estionnaire(teacher).
