The main content of this paper is research on the backwash effect of the new HSK Level 5 test on Chinese learners of Korean,including positive and negative effects.This study explores the difference in the backwash effect of students who have different understandings of the purpose of the test,the importance and the difficulty of the new HSK Level 5 test.At the same time,suggestions for positive reversal effects of the new HSK Level 5 test are proposed for Korean Chinese learners.This paper first summarizes the important researches on the backwash effect at home and abroad in recent years,and then conducts empirical research through the combination of questionnaires and interviews.This study refers to Shih's backwash effect model and puts forward two hypotheses: 1.The test will have an impact on the learner due to external factors,the internal factors of the test taker and the test itself;2.The backwash effect of the test is reflected in the learner's learning behavior and psychological attitude.At the same time,the questionnaires of this paper are designed based on the main conclusions of in mind domestic and international backwash effect research and the purpose of this paper.The interview was used to supplement the questionnaire.After gaining a preliminary understanding of the student's situation,the author selected individual Korean Chinese learners to conduct interviews in order to learn more about their learning methods and attitudes,and to assess their understanding of and reasons for taking the new HSK Level 5 exam.The author collected first-hand information by conducting a questionnaire survey of students from the Chinese Department of two universities in Gyeonggi-do and of two universities in Chungcheongnam-do,South Korea who have participated in or are planning to participate in the new HSK Level 5 exam.After conducting the questionnaire survey,the author randomly selected eight candidates to conduct interviews.The study found that the new HSK Level 5 has a backwash effect on Korean Chinese learners,and the positive impact of the test is greater than the negative one.The positive aspect is that learners will develop learning plans,extend learning time,adjust learning methods,and improve study habits for the new HSK Level 5 exam.Most Korean Chinese learners have a positive attitude towards the new HSK Level 5 exam and believe that the new HSK Level 5 exam has an incentive for and guiding role in learning Chinese.The negative backwash effect is manifested in the social function of the new HSK Level 5 test,which allows the candidate to take the test for utilitarian purposes and produce a "examination-oriented learning" phenomenon,which may become an obstacle to language learning.Finally,this paper puts forward the following learning Suggestions for Korean Chinese learners: clear learning objectives;Improving learning methods;Correct learning attitude;Get the test right.Teachers should clarify the content of the examination,give correct guidance,stimulate learning interest,suggest the society to use the examination results in a scientific and reasonable range,reduce or eliminate the misuse of the examination results.When language test results are used for graduation,admission,selection and other purposes,they should be combined with other assessment means to make a choice.Hanban timely feedback student performance information,the government to strengthen cultural propaganda.
