Study On Repetition Of Monosyllabic Adjectives In Modern Chinese

Based on the ways of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,this paper explores the monosyllabic adjective repetition system in modern Chinese from the perspectives of semantics,grammar,pragmatics,cognition and rhythm.According to the self-built corpus,all the meanings marked as adjectives in the dictionary of modern Chinese are examined from the perspective of repetition,and then the non-repeatable adjectives,repeatable adjectives and adjectives in the transition zone are classified.The main part of this paper is based on the repeatable adjectives.This paper is divided into five chapters.The content structure is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction.The introduction proposes the research background and significance of this paper,shows relevant definitions and literature review,and points out the research methods and corpus sources.The second chapter is the semantic investigation of the repetition of monosyllabic adjectives.First of all,this paper describes and explains the non-repeatable adjectives,repeatable adjectives and adjectives in the transition zone from the aspects of vocabulary description and characteristic analysis.Then the paper investigates the repeatable monosyllabic adjectives and classifies them semantically.The repetition phenomenon of monosyllabic adjectives is also analyzed in terms of degree,time and space.The third chapter is the grammatical investigation of the repetition of monosyllabic adjectives.The first is the independent utility of repeatable adjectives,including An adjective that can be used independently and that can not be used independently.The second is the investigation of the grammatical unit where the adjective is located,that is,the investigation within the clause,outside the clause,and the investigation of the cross-turn.The Angle of the investigation in the clause includes the syntactic function,the co-occurrence component,and the non-co-occurrence component.This was followed by a pause between typical and atypical speech styles,with the latter involving emoticons and conventional written symbols.Finally,the distribution of monosyllabic adjective repetition is investigated.The fourth chapter is a pragmatic investigation of the repetition of monosyllabic adjectives.It mainly focuses on stylistic distribution,speech act and pragmatic function.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,which is mainly to systematize the viewpoints of each chapter,and to summarize and illustrate the important viewpoints and conclusions of this paper.
