A Practical Report On Simulated Interpretation Of 2019 Apple Launch Event Under The Guidance Of The Interpretive Theory

With the rapid development of science and technology,smart phone,a kind of technology product,has also achieved rapid development.With more complete functions and more powerful performance,the smart phones bring people's lives into the era of intelligence.To better demonstrate the newly designed products,some technology products companies hold the product launch event to promote their products to customers.In the meantime,with the rapid development of Chinese economy,customers have greater purchasing power and greater interests in foreign technology products.This requires interpreters.of science and technology to accurately convey the information of the products launch event and help consumers know the latest products better.Therefore,it is the reality that demands us to conduct studies of the EST interpretation.The Interpretive Theory is widely used in interpreting practices.In order to convey the speaker's intention accurately,the interpreter needs to choose the appropriate interpretation theory as the guidance and adopt the correct interpretation method.The author chooses the Interpretive theory as the theoretical bases and the 2019 Apple products launch e-vent as the research content.This paper summarizes the guidance of the Interpretive theory in EST interpretation.According to the Interpretive theory,the translation process consists of three stages:understanding the source language,breaking away from the language shell and re-expression.The interpretive theory emphasizes the translation of the original meaning and interpretation practice should get rid of the constraint of the source language structure.Under the guidance of the interpretive theory,the author analyzes the typical examples in the interpretation materials and summarizes some methods that can improve the interpretation quality:conversion of part of speech,transform passive voice sentence into active voice sentence,information simplification,information supplement and free translation.The interpretation techniques of the interpretive theory can help the interpreter convey the meaning of the speaker accurately.English has the characteristics of hypotaxis and strict logical relationship while Chinese has the characteristics of parataxis.The interpreter should pay attention to the differences between Chinese and English expressions,adjust sentence structure appropriately and make the interpretation conform with the expression habits of the target language.While accumulating relevant industry knowledge,interpreters can combine theory with practice to improve the interpretation overall quality.Through summarizing the guidance of the Interpretive theory in the practice of EST interpretation and accumulating relevant experience,the author hopes to enhance the ability in EST interpretation practice in the future.
