A Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of HarmonyOS 2.0 Launch Event Under The Guidance Of The Interpretive Theory

In recent years,the United States has been suppressing Huawei step by step in the field of technology,so Huawei urgently needs to take a step towards independent development to untie the hands of the United States.Knowing the shame of the situation,the Harmony ecosystem has finally been officially released,an achievement of great significance to the development of China’s telecommunications industry.The author chose the Launch Event of Huawei’s Harmony OS on 2June 2021 as the material,under the guidance of the Interpreting Theory and its Triangular Model,to complete a simulated simultaneous interpreting task.After the task was completed,the author carefully compared,analysed and summarised the transcription in English and Chinese,and completed this practice report.Guided by the Interpretive Theory,the author carries out analysis in three stages: understanding,deverbalization and re-expression,for example,how to identify the overtone of the speaker and make up for the missing logic according to the context;how to shorten complex messages and replace excessively repetitive expressions when the author suffered heavy burden during simultaneous interpreting;how to choose words precisely and make the interpreting more fluent and so on.Finally,the author summarises her findings and her shortcomings in practice.Through this interpreting practice,the author found that the support of translation theory to interpreting practice is ubiquitous,and interpreters in whatever field should have a fine and in-depth investigation of their own field of study and perfect their own results through continuous learning in order to better ensure the quality of output contents.
