A Research On Created Hunan Flower Drum Song Piano Adaptation Composition-The Charm Of Hunan Music

Hunan Flower Drum Song,an intangible cultural heritage,is endowed with artistic treasures.In the modern and contemporary age,a great number of composers integrated the artistic elements of Hunan Flower Drum Song into the piano music and then created Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation composition.Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation composition made it possible for the artistic elements of Hunan Flower Drum Song to come to life again in piano music,presented its unique charm and national character through its vitality,gave a vivid picture of the various forms and profound wisdom of music cultural heritage in China and provided the space of theoretical studies for the innovative integration and development of Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation composition.Four representative works of Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation composition selected in this thesis were:Liuhai Kan Qiao by Ge Shunzhong,Liuhai Kan Qiao by Chu Wanghua,Hunan Flower Drum Song by Xi Qiming and Kan Xi by Tan Dun.This thesis analyzed the inheritance and innovation of Hunan Flower Drum Song in these four piano adaptation compositions and explored the diversified composing techniques and cultural connotations reflecting the artistic elements of Hunan Flower Drum Song in these works.This thesis firstly found out the composing techniques applied in these four Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation compositions.It further demonstrated the cultural connotations in Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation composition from the perspective of the mutually-beneficial relations between intangible cultural heritages and relevant derivatives.This thesis intended to figure out the unique strengths and the Chinese cultural characteristics embedded in the process of recomposing Hunan Flower Drum Song into piano,thus offering rational critical thinking to future studies in this area.This thesis consisted of three parts:Introduction,Main Body and Peroration.The origin and significance of this study,the literature review,the content of this study and the methods applied in this study were presented in the first part,Introduction.What constituted the Main Body were four chapters.The first chapter made a brief introduction to the geographical and human environments where Hunan Flower Drum Song existed and explored the relations between Hunan Flower Drum Song and Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation composition from the perspective of the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritages.The second chapter reviewed the development of Chinese piano adaptation music diachronically so as to learn the existence context of Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation music;analyzed the development of Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation music in different areas synchronically.The third chapter extracted from the detailed dissection of the four representative works that the local color tone of Hunan Flower Drum Song,Duo Ban,Run Qiang and instrumental accompaniment were applied in these four Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaptation compositions,providing practical guidance for performing these four compositions.The fourth chapter concluded the micro and macro elements of Hunan Flower Drum Song applied in these four compositions and made a reference to recompose piano adaptation compositions with intangible cultural heritages.The cultural connotations and meaning for the integration of artistic forms in these four compositions were discussed as well.The Peroration clarified the creative composing of Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaption composition that was featured by national character and artistry,reached a conclusion that the integration and connection of music and of culture in Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaption composition were characterized with Hunan local artistic charm,providing rational and emotional reference in the level of academic research for comprehending and performing these four Hunan Flower Drum Song piano adaption compositions.
