A Report On Simulated E-C Consecutive Interpreting For Blockchain System Launch From The Perspective Of The Interpretive Theory

With the advance of globalization and China's opening-up policy,the world economy is ever more interconnected,which triggers the prosperity of international business activities,especially commercial conferences and product launch events.This phenomenon,however,incubates the immense market demand for specialized interpreters.Based on the practice of the simulated E-C consecutive interpreting of a product launch entitled Restoring Transparency in Advertising with Blockchain,this report is intended to discuss how to better accomplish product launch interpreting tasks under the guidance of Interpretive Theory.Due to the nature of product launch that speakers tend to speak in an informal manner,the interpreter,during the practice,confronts several challenges,namely,information redundancy,and information incoherence.Additionally,the source material encompasses blockchain,a specific concept of financial technology,and terminology becomes another challenge for the interpreter.The Interpretive Theory argues interpreters ought to pay attention to transmission of meanings instead of the shift of language forms.Also,the theory views the process of interpreting as three stages and brings forward the Triangular Model.According to the model,the first stage is comprehension,which means understanding the source language.The second stage is deverbalization,which means liberating the meaning from the source language.And the last stage is re-expression,which means expressing the meaning of the source material in the target language.Correspondingly,the interpreter,under the guidance of Interpretive Theory,employs some specific strategies and techniques to address these challenges.These specific strategies include summarizing redundant information,restructuring incoherent information and simplifying terminology.By applying these coping tactics and the Interpretive Theory,the interpreter intends to convey information to the target viewers in a precise and concise manner.Furthermore,the interpreter,by presenting this report,also aims to provide assistance to interpreters who may encounter similar challenges in the future.
