The Montessori Toddler was written by Dutch female teacher Simone Davis. It was published in February 2019.There are ten chapters in the book.At present, there is no Chinese translation has yet appeared. The author of the report is responsible for the translation of Chapter VI of the book. This book describes how to bring Montessori education methods into the daily life of every family. The original author Simone Davis shared many practical parenting skills, such as how to arrange at home, how to cultivate children's curiosity, how to let children learn to cooperate, etc.,and advised not to seek ways to get along by ordering, threatening or bribing children;its main purpose is to allow every reader to benefit from Montessori education methods and find a more peaceful way to get along with children. In the process of translation, the author of the report starts from the original text and found that the text belongs to the type of the informative function, which aims to convey the facts such as information, knowledge, opinion and so on.The author's translation practice is centered around the theme of providing guidance and education to readers on how to regulate their words and deeds. Therefore, the author of this translation report, using the Skopos theory as a guide, with elaborate analyses of specific cases, discusses the standardization of the translation of the original text from the following seven aspects: Foreignization translation, naturalization translation, split translation, amplification, omission, the adjustment of sentence order and the choice of different meanings of vocabulary. This translation report is divided into four parts: translation task description, translation process, translation case analysis, and post-translation summary. The description of the translation task includes the task source, author and text introduction, and the significance of translation project. The second part includes pre-translation preparation, translation revision and translation difficulties. The third part is the case analysis under the guidance of the Skopos theory, which is also the most important part of this translation report. In this part, the author of the report finds 25 typical translation examples as the object of analysis, which are used to illustrate the different translation methods and Skopos theory of translation. The fourth part is the post-translation summary, which is the author's review and summary of the problems and solutions in the translation practice,as well as inspirations and prospects for future translation work.
