A Report On Sci-Tech E-C Translation Under The Perspective Of Skopos Theory

With the continuing development of science and technology worldwide,the pace of foreign exchange of scientific and technological achievements between China and other countries has been accelerated.In modern science and technology,materials science is one of the three pillar industries of national economic development,and the application of communication engineering has now penetrated into people's lives Therefore,the translation of texts of materials science and communication engineering has attracted increasing attention,and will have growing research valueThis report takes Skopos Theory as its theoretical basis and aims to prove the rationality and feasibility of its application in guiding the translation of English scientific texts into Chinese by combining the principle of Skopos Theory and the characteristics of scientific and technical texts.This report selects two papers for translation whose subject involves materials science and communication engineering.introducing related research results of sensitized solar cells in materials science and the design of the all-optical network coding scheme for the node structlure of logical computing in communication engineering respectively.The author discusses how to choose appropriate translation strategies and methods for translating the scientific texts into Chinese based on the theory of Skopos Theory at the three levels of word.syntax and discourse.At the lexical level,the author mainly discusses the choice of word meaning,conversion of word class,the E-C translation of non-predicate verb and the corresponding translation methods;at the syntactic level,the author mainly deals with the translation of English passive voice,compound and complex sentences;at the textual level,the author mainly discusses the E-C translation methods of improving discourse logic through logic analysisThe author of this report proposed some appropriate methods for translating English scientific texts based on his translation practice,aiming to provide some valuable reference for translators engaged in the translation of scientific texts for the improvement of the quality of translation of scientific texts.
