In the field of second language acquisition,"successful language learners" has been the subject of much attention since the 1970s.The researchers believe that digging deep into the common characteristics of successful Chinese learners can improve the effectiveness of Chinese teaching and improve the quality of teaching.On the basis of previous researches,this thesis tries to explore the common characteristics of successful Chinese learners,to put forward concrete suggestions for the first-line teachers to improve their teaching,and points out the direction for ordinary learners.This article is divided into six chapters,the first chapter mainly introduces the reasons for the selection of topics and the current situation of domestic and foreign research on successful learners,which deals with learners' emotions,attitudes,motivations,learning belief and learning strategies.The second chapter introduces the overall research design,that is,under the framework of Ellis's research on learners,it explores the common characteristics of 30 successful Chinese learners by means of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis.The research tools are as follows:(1)Successful Chinese learners' emotion,attitude,motivation questionnaire.(2)Successful Chinese learners' language learning belief questionnaire.(3)Successful Chinese learners'learning strategy questionnaire.Chapters three to five describe in detail the common characteristics of successful Chinese learners in terms of emotion,attitude,motivation,learning belief and learning strategy.The results show that the common characteristics of successful Chinese learners in terms of emotion,attitude and motivation are:(1)Integrative motivation and instrumental motivation is strong,but integrative motivation is the strongest.(2)Self-confidence in language is strong.(3)Study hard and attach importance to learning Chinese.(4)Have full satisfaction and pleasure,with appropriate language anxiety,etc.The common characteristics of successful Chinese learners in the learning belief are:(1)Recognize the ability of foreign language learning,think that they have special language talents.(2)The difficulty of language is different,Chinese is difficult.(3)You can master Chinese through a lot of practice.(4)Pay attention to Chinese pronunciation,etc.The common characteristics of successful Chinese learners in learning strategies are:(1)The use of strategies is extensive and comprehensive.(2)Make good use of social strategies and attach importance to the communicative function of language.(3)Make good use of metacognitive strategies,and be able to independently monitor the language learning process.(4)Make good use of a variety of cognitive strategies,pay attention to language form and function.(5)Make good use of compensation strategy,not afraid to make mistakes and so on.On this basis,this thesis puts forward some targeted suggestions for learners and Chinese teachers.Learners can adjust themselves through the learning experience of successful Chinese learners,continuously stimulate the motivation of language learning,balance the anxiety and pleasure in the process of language learning,establish correct language learning belief,change learning strategies,and help to cultivate their creative ability to use Chinese.Teachers can refer to the research results,choose a variety of teaching methods,improve the quality of teaching.It has a strong practical significance.
