The Research On Yan Lianke's "Spiritual Realism" Novel

Yan Lianke,one of the most highlighted writers in Chinese contemporary literature,has created works continuously for 40 years since publishing the short story the Story of Gastrodia Elata in 1979.His literary creation is rooted in the hometown of Palou mountains firmly,showing overthrow the traditional realistic writing style in a unique way.Yan's creation,a groundbreaking attempt to the mode of realism writing,is in the spotlight of critics.Especially his creation of “Spiritual Realism” has become the focus of scholars' attention.“Spiritual Realism” writing achieves the spiritual core of social reality by the way of the extreme description,the nonrepresentational absurdity of strategy and the transcendence of internal realistic logic.Thereinto,the creation of the “Palou Series” has taken on the spirit characteristic of the writer,and embodies Yan's literary spirit.It not only shows the process of Yan's exploration of the concept of “Spiritual Realism”,but also is the powerful practice of his literary view.Based on the theoretical interpretation of the “Spiritual Realism” in the literary criticism,this text attempts to analyze Yan Lianke's literary creation from the perspective of “Spiritual Realism”.This full paper is divided into the five parts.The first section is introduction.Combined with Yan Lianke's writing journey,this part gives a comprehensive review of the research achievements on the creation of “Palou Series”and Yan Lianke's literary characteristics,as well as the gaps on the research of “Spiritual Realism” writing.In the second chapters,starting with exploring the formation process of “Spiritual Realism” from Yan's forty years of creation,the author analyzes the track of his literary idea and grasps the “constancy” and “change” of Yan's writing journey.The third chapter analyzes the specific operation paradigm of “Spiritual Realism”creation from the aspects of diversified writing style,extreme description,the strategy of absurdity and allegorical expression.The fourth chapter focuses on the connotation of “Spiritual Realism” novel and exploring Yan's thinking on the social reality in literary creation.The last chapter grasps the literary value and limitation of Yan's “Spiritual Realism”creation.By the unique way of writing,“Spiritual Realism” creation adds new blood into Chinese contemporary literary and activates various possibilities of contemporary realism writing,as well as breaking through the rigid pattern of traditional realism creation to some extent.However,the limitation existing on the “Spiritual Realism” is still worthy of attention.
