The Application Of New Mark's Theory In Legal English

Under the background of economic globalization,China's foreign exchanges have been more frequent and the importance of legal translation has become increasingly prominent.Because of the differences in history,language,and cultural customs have formed kinds of law,how to translate the original text into the target language accurately is the key problem of legal translation.In recent years,although the legal English translation in China has made great progress,the research on translation theory lags far behind the development of translation practice,which is limited to the summary description of the translation examples and the interpretation of the experience.Therefore,it is imperative to strengthen the development and construction of legal translation,which is also the responsibility of each legal translation researcher.In the process of legal translation,due to different cultural characteristics,legal system,and textual differences,many legal translation problems have arisen.In order to solve these problems,this report uses Newmark's translation theory as a guide to analyze the articles of A History Of Delaware Corporation Law and related briefcases on Corporation law.This report is a summary of the translation task.The report is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is the introduction.This chapter expounds the task process and text characteristics of this paper,focusing on the differences between judicial language and legislative language.The second chapter is the task process,which mainly summarizes the translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation review.The third chapter is the main parts of this report,which is the specific application of Newmark's translation theories and viewpoints.Among them,the text type theory,semantic translation theory and communicative translation theory are the main theoretical basis for all aspects of research.The three theories analyze different factors affecting the translation of legal texts,especially in culture and in the mode of thinking.The fourth chapter is a summary of the whole report,analyzing the shortcomings in translation report and summarizing translation experience.The author hopes that the summary of this translation report can enlighten the translation of other legal texts,and improve the theoretical and practical research of legal English translation,and contribute to the development of legal translation in China.
