Frédéric Francois Chopin is one of the most influential people of European piano music in 19th century.As a national composer who was born in Poland during the most turbulent period,the intense Polish style of Chopin's works are studied by a variety of western musical professions from many diversified perspectives.From this context,our purpose is to analyze how to use playing skills of piano to illuminate and display Polish national style from performer's aspect.The study used two representative works,"Op.7 No.1"&"Op.50 No.3",from one of the most iconic Chopin's works that embodies Polish national style which is "Mazurkas" to analyze their accent,grace note and elastic speed(rubato).Based on these three characteristics and analysis of actual performer's play combined,I will start to discuss the argument on Chopin's Polish national style.At the same time,this article selects two representative Chinese and Western performers,Arthur Rubinstein(1887—1982)and Fu Cong(1934—),as examples.They are the two of the most authoritative musicians to establish paradigm in the performance of Chopin's Mazurkas back in the 1950s and 1960s.Therefore,this article combines the specific acoustic data of these two performers to demonstrate their viewpoints while analyzing.
