In order to help students overcome the difficulties in English reading learning,enhance their English reading effect,and improve their comprehensive English literacy,this paper is written to analyse the results of an experiment which based on the combination of interview method,questionnaire survey method,experimental method and other research methods,uses lexical chunk teaching method as the research starting point,takes a high school sophomore class as the research object,and sets 20 weeks as the experimental period.By comparing the data before and after the experiment,this paper explores whether lexical chunk teaching can improve senior high school students' English reading ability.This teaching experiment is mainly to study whether the use of lexical chunk teaching method can promote the cultivation of receptive vocabulary ability of senior high school students,whether it has a more significant role in learning complex vocabulary for senior high school students,and what kind of impact it will have on senior high school students' English reading.In the process of experiment design,based on the theory of lexical chunks,combined with the theoretical knowledge and the actual situation of students' learning,this paper scientifically designs the content of teaching courses,analyzes the specific application process of lexical chunks teaching method through questionnaire,experiment,interview and other methods,and implements corresponding improvement measures,so as to bring new ideas and new directions to senior high school English teaching.This paper expounds the concept definition and connotation characteristic of lexical chunk teaching,and verifies the effect of Lexical Chunk Theory on students' reading comprehension ability through experiments.Through the experiment,this paper comes to a conclusion that lexical chunk teaching method is conducive helping senior high school students develop good English reading habits,and achieve long-term memory in the process of lexical chunk recognition,training and application,so that they effectively alleviate anxiety,read English text with a fuller and more peaceful attitude,and improve their Comprehensive English reading ability.Therefore,the introduction of lexical chunks into English Reading Teaching in senior high school has certain feasibility and timeliness,which iswell worth promoting and using for reference.
