Research On The Symbolism Of Chekhov's Novels

Anton Pavlovich Chekhov is a Russian traditional realist writer with great influence in the world literary world in the 19 th century,and also a writer with forward-looking and innovative consciousness.He not only continued the tradition of realism,but also integrated many modern artistic elements into his creation,leading the era.This unique artistic style had a great impact on many fields of 20 th century literature.This paper starts with the works of Chekhov in different periods of his creation,and makes a detailed elaboration and in-depth study of the symbolic techniques used by Chekhov,and summarizes its characteristics,so as to explore the deep connotation of Chekhov's novels.This paper consists of four parts: introduction,main body,conclusion and references.The introduction defines and explains the concepts of "symbol" and "symbolism",discusses the historical background of the rise of Russian symbolism literature,analyzes the characteristics of Chekhov in the transitional period of modern literature and modern literature,summarizes the current research status of Chekhov,and summarizes the significance and methods of this paper.The first chapter "the symbolic use of Chekhov's Novels",combined with Chekhov's novels in different periods,analyzes the symbolic techniques of his novels from different perspectives such as image symbol,plot symbol,environment symbol and character symbol.The second chapter "symbolic characteristics of Chekhov's Novels",from the integration of symbol and plot,the system of symbolic object and the repetition of symbolic details,studies the uniqueness of symbol in Chekhov's novels.The third chapter,"the influence of symbolic art of Chekhov's Novels",mainly analyzes the influence of symbolic art of Chekhov's novels on Russian symbolists,foreign writers and literary thoughts from two aspects,foreign and domestic.
