Independent Soul

After decades of development,our society is now a new era.With the transition from collectivism to individualism,great changes have taken place in people’s outlook on life,the world and values.More young people are willing to pursue their own feelings and enjoy the time alone more than frequent social contact.When there is no external interference,it is relatively easy to establish a clear communication with the inner spiritual world.The more real self began to show,showing the charm of human beings different from other life.Island watercolor figure painting series is concerned about the state of contemporary young people when they are alone.Strive to show the spirit and vitality of the characters.Explore the spirit of self and the spirit of the times in watercolor figure painting.The research on the subject selection of this creation will not only help to strengthen the expression of the inner spirit of contemporary watercolor figure painting,but also enrich the author’s aesthetic understanding of painting art and practical ability of figure painting creation in the future.This paper is divided into four parts,the first part is the author of this creation of the reasons for the selection,from the perspective of contemporary young people to "independent soul",put forward the idea of creation.The second part is the author through to the Chinese and foreign outstanding figure painting masters such as Andrew wise,Mao Yan,Chen Jian’s figure painting work research,analyzes the internal spirit expression in the watercolor figure painting,through to the outstanding figure painting work study,finds the beneficial enlightenment and the law which can draw lessons from to the author’s creation.The third part is a record of the creation process of the author’s Island series works.The author will express my exploration and thinking in this creative practice from the perspectives of the overall idea and intention of creation,emotional expression,formal language and the perception of figure painting creation.
