The creation of classical Chinese novels in the literature of Tang Dynasty has a far-reaching influence in the history of classical Chinese novels.The rise and fall of the Times have a great influence on the mentality of the literati and the content of their works.In the early period of Tang Dynasty,the society was stable,forming the literature works with high mood and striving.But in the middle period of Tang Dynasty,the state of mind of the scholars who lived in disorder had changed when they wrote novels.By studying the literati's mentality in the Mid-Tang Dynasty Novels,we can understand the literati's spiritual world and living conditions at that time.In view of the fact that most of the previous research on the Tang Dynasty novels focused on the circulation of the version,the age of the book,and the author's identification,etc.,the author synthesized the previous research results and selected the Tang Dynasty Suzong Zhide first year to Tang Wenzong Dahe first year.Taking the literati mentality as the entry point of the thesis,researching and interpreting the novels of Mid-Tang.This paper is mainly divided into three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.The content of the introduction is mainly to explain the purpose and significance of this topic and related research status.The first chapter summarizes the background of the generation of the mentality of the Chinese in the novels of the Mid-Tang Dynasty from the three major changes in the war,economic and cultural life in the Mid-Tang Dynasty.The second chapter summarizes the main literati mentality in the novels of the middle Tang period into five categories: aggressive political mentality,trending profit-seeking mentality,pursuit of equal love mentality,escape from the secluded hermit mentality,and indulgent materialistic mentality.The third chapter summarizes the mentality characteristics of the literati in the Mid-Tang dynasty through the mentality in the novels,and the fourth chapter interprets the connotation and significance of the mentality of the literati in the Mid-Tang Dynasty.The conclusion partis the summary of the thesis.
