As one of the most creative and important contemporary writers,Jia Pingwa has been exploring and transcending himself since he published his works in the early 1970 s.Almost every work can bring readers new reading experience. In the 1980 s,Shang Zhou's writing was well-known in the literary world. In the 1990 s,urban themes or rural themes were involved in the process of urbanization.Four long novels,Abolished Metropolis,White Night,Tu Men,and Gao Laozhuang, were taken as representatives to boldly demonstrate the understanding of "body",and "body narrative" became a significant sign of creation in this period. In this sense, this kind of creation plays an important role in the history of literary writing,so "body narrative" has also become a key to open the mystery of related works of Jia Pingwa. This paper takes this as the basic cognitive approach to explore the changing process of Jia Pingwa's creation in the context of literature history and social history of this period. In addition to the introduction, the paper will discuss from four parts: the first chapter focuses on the literary sensational effect caused by "body narrative" in the process of creation, publication, prohibition and reprint of Abolished Metropolis. The second chapter starts from the literature history and Jia Pingwa's personal creation history, analyzes Jia Pingwa's narrative tradition which is different from that regarding "body" as the national country and revolutionary fable, highlights the subjectivity and spiritual embodiment of "body",and deeply explores the change of Jia Pingwa's novel creation style. The third chapter starts from the characters created in the works, analyzes the deep relationship between the image and the theme, and through the comparison of the "personal writing" in the same period, specifically analyzes how Jia Pingwa completed the breakthrough of "body narrative" with the entanglement of body and identity. The fourth chapter points out from the perspective of novel aesthetics and consumption culture that there is a simple and one-sided phenomenon in the treatment of body narrative in Jia Pingwa's novels, which makes it difficult to realize the aspiration of reflection and construction of urban and rural civilization, and the excessive body narrative is also easily trapped by the consumption wave.In the conclusion, from the relationship between body narrative and novel aesthetics, the poetic value and literary history significance of body narrative in Jia Pingwa's novels are summed up.At the same time, itneeds to be pointed out that although Jia Pingwa's body narrative in 1990's can be choosy,it has realized the possibility and limit of "body" and "back to body itself" to start narrative, which is beneficial to later creation.
