Aesthetic Research Of Travel Prose Of Cao Tang Temple Of The Song Dynasty

The prose of the Song Dynasty presents a picture of prosperity in the history of ancient Chinese prose,which is directly reflected in the huge group of writers and the great number of works.Narrative prose flourished at the Song Dynasty influenced by two ancient prose movements which occurred in Tang and Song successively.The narrative prose in Song Dynasty not only reflected a boom in quantity which had never been shown in the past,but also in more diverse themes.Travel prose,a literary style which is close to life,reached its peak in the Song Dynasty.The Thesis examines the overall characteristics of the travel prose of Cao Tang temple of the Song Dynasty by further research on it through aesthetic and cultural perspectives.The thesis focuses on the aesthetic research about the travel prose of Cao Tang temple of the Song Dynasty,which consists of four parts:Firstly,this thesis sorts out the occurrence and development of the pre-Song Dynasty travel prose in chronological order.Also,it analyzes the consciousness of landscape of the literati who lived in pre-Song Dynasty,in order to demonstrate its influence and effect of enlightenment on the travel prose of Song Dynasty.Secondly,the thesis classifies the travel prose of Cao Tang temple of the Song Dynasty into three categories: adventure travels,landscape travels,and Buddha-worship travels,based on its different themes.These three categories fully displayed the geographical layout,natural character and profound implication from both the inside cultural implication and the outside landscape perspectives.Thirdly,based on the external literary structure and internal writing techniques of the travel prose,the thesis analyzes the beauty in the travel prose of Cao Tang temple of the Song Dynasty from the outer appearance to inner essence in terms ofits well-developed grammar and structure,clear and concise language and strict and profound demonstration and speculation.The thesis analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of the travel prose of Cao Tang temple of the Song Dynasty.Finally,the thesis analyze the changing mindset of the author from the implication of aesthetic and the implication cultural perspectives which behind the travel prose of Cao Tang temple of the Song Dynasty.In the context of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,the prose reflects the mindset changing from enjoying leisure to concerning politics,and then to the returning of the soul.
