With the high-speed development of mobile communication technology and the increasing popularity of mobile learning devices,mobile learning has come into being.Mobile learning basically refers to a kind of novel learning style,which devotes to realizing the interaction between students and teachers in an authentic and meaningful learning context at all moments and places,under the support of the advanced mobile devices and comprehensive learning resources.Simultaneously,two important national documents Education Informatization 2.0 Action Plan and English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017)propose and advocate the development of students' information literacy,which makes mobile learning become a hot topic.Literature review shows that studies on senior high school students' English mobile learning inside and outside class are still limited;therefore,investigating the current situation of senior high school students' English mobile learning inside and outside class is of great significance.This paper selects 200 Grade One and Grade Two students from a senior high school in Yantai and 5 English teachers as main research participants,with questionnaire and interview,and it tries to answer the following research questions:(1)What are the attitudes of teachers and students towards English mobile learning?(2)How is the senior high school students' English mobile learning inside and outside class carried out(including English mobile learning behaviors,English mobile learning resources and mobile learning devices)?(3)What are the factors affecting senior high school students' English mobile learning?Through data analysis,the major findings could be summarized as follows:(1)All interviewed teachers and most of the students appreciate the distinct strongpoints of English mobile learning;however,a small group of students reflect that the entertainment function of mobile devices will distract them.(2)As the complementary learning means,senior high school students carry out English mobile learning frequently,which is embodied in that 52.63% of them have English mobile learning class every day and 76.84% of students are engrossed in English mobile learning class.Concurrently,the significant deviation between Grade One and Grade Two students in the aspect of their extracurricular English mobile learning behaviors truly exists,which is embodied in the following aspects: first,students in Grade Two take more time and be more concentrated in the process of English mobile learning;second,students in Grade One conduct English mobile learning under the guidance of teachers,while students in Grade Two are more likely to participate in online learning communities for cooperative learning.In addition,the coverage of mobile learning devices is relatively high,almost every student has a tablet PC,and the channels for students to obtain English mobile learning resources after class are diversified.(3)The main factors negatively affecting senior high school students' English mobile learning in class consist of the slow running speed of campus network and teacher's poor mobile teaching skill,while the primary elements hindering their English mobile learning after class include high costs of English mobile learning resources and scarcity of effective English mobile learning instructions.
