Investigating The Artistic Styles Of Lv Pin’s Watercolor Painting

After watercolor spread from the west to China,Chinese watercolor painting witnessed the revolution of traditional ideology and culture.Combination betweeen the essence of Chinese local painting and the advantages of Western painting forms a Chinese watercolor painting with oriental characteristics.Mr.Lv Pin is a famous watercolor artist and pioneer of watercolor education in Shandong Province.Most of his paintings are about landscape paintings or still life paintings.In his time,Mr.Lv Pin is famous for his unique sense of color.His painting style is compatible with the bright and clear markers in Western watercolor painting,the inner rhythm and hazy and deep aesthetic mood of Oriental image painting.As a main founder of Shangdong watercolor,Lv Pin did outstanding contributions to the prosperity of Shandong watercolor.However,Lv Pin has always been modest and amiable,quiet and farsighted.In addition,since he suffered from eye disease in his later years,his artistic achievements have not been recognized and few theoretical studies work on the actual values of his paintings.This main storyline of thesis to discuss the artistic style of Lv Pin’s watercolor painting.First of all,this study analyzes the influence of Western art,Chinese traditional culture,Qingdao’s local characteristics and the way of painting based on exploring and testing his artistic styles;then this study analyzes the development process of artistic styles of Lv Pin’s watercolor painting arts.,Combined with its typical watercolor landscape,it discusses its watercolor artistic styles in detail from the four aspects: the theme,skill,color and artistic conception of the works,Finally,the thesis discusses the influence of Lv Pin’s watercolor painting on Shandong Province and the inspiration for his creations,and achieves the understanding theory and practice,through the efforts of subjective conception,creative expression,and practical perception.
