Classroom silence is a kind of non-verbal communication behavior that students show in the classroom teaching situation,which is silent and has no fixed meaning.It is a classroom phenomenon that deserves attention.This paper uses qualitative research methods such as narrative research,interview and observation to focus on a senior student of a primary school called H in City W.It describes the characteristics of his English classroom silence deeply and explores the factors that affect his English classroom silence.On the basis of this research,it tries to carry out educational intervention on his English classroom silence,and puts forward the construction suggestions to his English teachers.First of all,through interviews with Luoluo's teachers,parents and classmates,this paper fully understands Luoluo's personality,learning and living conditions in school and at home,and outlines Luoluo's "real" appearance as a whole.Secondly,the thesis uses narrative research methods to sort out the story of the silence in Luoluo's English classroom,trace back the formation process of the silence in Luoluo's English classroom,and summarize the four stages of the silence in Luoluo's English classroom,that is,the rudiment of silence,the gradual rooting of silence,the spiral of silence,and the habit of silence.Thirdly,it analyzes the influencing factors of the formation of Luoluo's English classroom silence from the aspects of students' own factors,school education factors,family education factors and social and cultural factors.Finally,the paper tries to intervene Luoluo's silence in English class,make friends with Luoluo,encourage him to adjust his mind and actively accept himself;communicate with his English teacher,try to change her teaching methods and strategies;communicate with Luoluo's parents,so that they can understand what Luoluo thinks of adolescence,and really care for their child.Finally,the author tries to put forward a series of practical enlightenment and suggestions to primary school English teachers from the aspects of how to optimize all aspects of the teaching process and how to pay attention to the students.
