Research On "NP _Non-locative-Lai-Object" Structure

This paper takes�NP _Non-locative-Lai-Object�structure as the research object.Through the investigation and statistics of the corpus,it makes a comprehensive study on the three levels of this structure,including syntax,semantics and pragmatics.The thesis consists of four parts.The first part mainly includes five aspects:the object and value of the research,research status and existing problems,innovations,research methods,sources of corpus.In the second part,it analyzes the syntactic structure of�NP _Non-locative-Lai-Object�,including the type of object,the type of structure and the condition of expansion.There are fewer words and more phrases acting as the object of the structure.Attribute-head phrases are dominant in object.The structure can be divided into two types:extensible and non-extensible.The verbs that can be inserted into the structure must be transitive and autonomous.When the center of the object is a verbal element,the verbs that can be inserted must be verbs whose objects are predicative.Whether the structure can be expanded depends on the object,subject and context.The paper analyzes the semantics of�NP _Non-locative-Lai-Object�structure in the third part.There are eight semantic types:displacement,existence,absorption,undertaking,transmission,originating,speech and presentation.It also tries to sum up the formal characteristics of each semantic type.Applying image schema theory,it thinks that the polysemy of this structure originates from its focus on different stages of the movement event,which constituted by the core meaning of Lai.The fourth part is the pragmatic analysis of the structure of�NP _Non-locative-Lai-Object�.This structure often appears in spoken language and literary style;the meaning of the structure is highly dependent on the context,so it needs to rely on the information provided by the context to eliminate ambiguity or obtain the temporary meaning given by the context in a specific situation.When introducing semantics types to foreign students,it can proceed in the order of displacement?transmission,absorption,existence?speech,originating?presentation,undertaking.
