All the time, the intangible cultural heritage is preserved in the crafts and memories of the vast number of folk artists. And the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage is a crucial factor for the inheritance of traditional culture from generation to generation. The most important characteristic of intangible cultural heritage is living state cultural. That is to say,its survival and development are in the process of living inheritance and protection. As a result, the core factor of intangible cultural heritage protection is to protect the inheritor.Rebgong Thangka art,as one of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage List,is also a kind of cultural art which takes people as a carrier inheriting through oral instruction. In additional, its crafts and cultural connotations also need to be inherited on the basis of inheritors. This thesis takes the protection of the inheritors in the perspective of the intangible cultural heritage as the starting point, and chooses Wutun Village,Tongren County,Qinghai Province as a field pilot.Making use of the local identity of myself and the understanding of local culture,in the first place,it starts with and the human geography background of the field pilot and elaborates the space generated by the intangible cultural heritage. Then it summarizes and combs related theories of the intangible cultural heritage as the basis, and investigates the survival status of the representative successors of Rebgong Thangka which have been selected by the state and government department and the non-representative successors that have not been recognized by the state and government departments as the main line to develop investigation and research. The research makes the distinction about the two types of inheritors through the identity, region, and gender, and reveals the positive impact of inheritors on the protection of the intangible cultural heritage through combing the artistic experience and inheritance status of the inheritors. It is indicated that there are a series of problems in the current survival status, such as cultural dislocation, the loss of traditional crafts, the scarcity of independent female inheritors, the uneven protection effort of representative and non-representative inheritors, and the imperfections of local archiving and database mechanisms etc.,and then tries to explore how to maintain sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage under these problems.I hope that through this thesis,it can provide a realistic reference for the protection works of inheritors, and appeals to all circles to pay more attention to non-representative inheritors.
