A Study About The Image Of Confucius In Chuang Tzu

The text of Chuang Tzu records the deeds and words of many characters.The study of the characters and deeds in Chuang Tzu is also an important basis for understanding Chuang Tzu's thoughts.In a nutshell,what behinds the recordings of those characters is the way Chuang Tzu thinks about metaphysical knowledge,in other words,the dimension of Chuang Tzu's philosophical interpretation.This paper is attempt to take the text about the image of Confucius which appears most in Chuang Tzu as the research object,describe the image of Confucius in Chuang Tzu,and then give a brief explanation of the characteristics of Chuang Tzu's philosophical thoughts and the way of his philosophical interpretation.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is a shortly introduction of why the image of Confucius in Chuang Tzu became a question.Starting from Si Matan's division of six schools,Si Maqian made comments on the text of Chuang Tzu firstly,but Su Shi refuted one by one later,what's more,Confucius appears almost fifty times in Chuang Tzu,so the argue about the text of Chuang Tzu and the image of Confucius in Chuang Tzu began since ancient times.The second part is the the research history of Chuang Tzu's text and the image of Confucius in Chuang Tzu.First of all,summarize the views of ancient and modern scholars on the authors of the inner,outer and miscellaneous parts of Chuang Tzu to illustrate the consistency of the inner thoughts of Chuang Tzu.The paper argues that although Chuang Tzu isn't writen by Chuang Tzu alone,but the pulse is all inherited from Chuang Tzu,all the words are connected colsely,so we should regard the inner,outer and miscellaneous parts as one part to carry out the research.Then,introduce three main points about the relation between Chuang Tzu and Confucianism: Chuang Tzu opposites to Confucius,Chuang Tzu helps Confucius secretly,and Chuang Tzu regrads Confucius as teacher.Finally,list the classification method and standpoint of the extensive study of theimage of Confucius in Chuang Tzu.The third part based on current edition of Chuang Tzu,sorts out the words and deeds of Confucius clearly appearing in Chuang Tzu according to the order of inner,outer and miscellaneous parts.The fourth part makes a brief summary of the image of Confucius in Chuang Tzu,combined with the description of other characters in Chuang Tzu,illustrates that the characters in Chuang Tzu are used to express Chuang Tzu's thoughts of Tao,through the spatial thinking and the means of interpretation named De Yu Wang Quan.That is to say,what is behind Chuang Tzu's description of Confucius is Chuang Tzu's interpretation of metaphysical knowledge.The fifth part draws the conclusion that the image of Confucius in Zhuangzi is a way to understand the image of Confucius in Zhuangzi and Zhuangzi,if it is not taken as a value judgment based on the school standpoint,but only as a means to express his own thoughts in Zhuangzi.
