Jiao Xun's achievements in the fields of Confucian classics and mathematics have caused the academic circles to ignore his achievements in ethnography and literature for a long time.In fact,Jiao Xun has representative writings in the field of ethnography and literature,and his Bei Hu Xiao Zhi and DiaoGu Collection are well-known.Since the1980 s,the academic community has paid more and more attention to the study of Jiao Xunfang and literary studies.Taiwan scholar He Zeheng's A Brief Discussion on the History of Jiao Xun specifically expounds Jiao Xun's chronicle theory and its relationship with Zhang Xuecheng,which is valuable for broadening the perspective of Jiao Xun's chronicle.A single chapter of Liu Jinhui's Commentary on Jiao Xun is devoted to the characteristics of Jiao Xun's ancient essays,poetry,and literary theory,and analyzes the reasons for his inadequate literary research.Jiao Xun's literary achievements have been comprehensively described.However,there has been no research analyzing the relationship between Jiao Xun's ethnography and literature.During the Qianjia and Jiajia periods where the relationship between philology and literature in the Qing Dynasty became closer,Jiao Xun joined the cause of cultivation as a literati.In the constant collision and mingling,his literary communication,creation,etc.have gradually been related to the compilation of philosophers,forming his own Chi-wen relations that are common and personal in the times.This article focuses on the relationship between Jiao Xun's the relationship between the compilation of local history and literary activities,and touches on areas that have never been discussed before.Mainly based on Jiao Xun's North Lake Chronicles and its existing literary works as research materials,through a cross-disciplinary study of the relationship and performance of the codification and the literary activities of Jiao Xun,make a more systematic review and researchThe text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter briefly describes Jiao Xun's life and his writings.Jiao Xun upholds the family motto of treating people with loyalty and literature,and is sincere,peaceful,filial,and diligent.Although he was very knowledgeable,he had a difficult time in the imperial examinations.After the death of his father and his mother-in-law,Jiao Xun,as the eldest son,sat in the hall to teach students and study on the curtain in order to carry out the important tasks of the family.He returned to Beihu in middle age,writing with his heart,and ending with a sudden illness.Jiao Xun's scholarship involves many fields such as classics,mathematics,local history and literature.Yi Zhang Ju,Addition,Subtraction,Multiplication and Interpretation,Bei Hu Xiao Zhi and DiaoGu Collection are all their representative works,which are of great significance.His views on "the actual measurement of the scriptures","spiritual scriptures","calculation by reason","advance with categories",and "the success of one generation to another" are insightful.The second chapter outlines the relationship between Jiao Xun's compilation oflocal records and literary activities.The background of the relationship between the compilation of local chronicles and literary activities is expounded in three aspects: the reasons for the prosperity of the compilation of local chronicles in the Qing Dynasty,its performance and its relationship with literary activities.The reasons for the prosperity of the local chronicles compiled in the Qing Dynasty mainly include the following four points: the need of the Qing court rule,the influence of the legacy of the Xiuzhi of the previous generation,the need for official achievements and the desire of the literati to make a statement.The magnificence of the compilation of local chronicles in the Qing Dynasty is reflected in the most complete types of local journals,the largest number of local journals,the high quality of local journals,the most extensive sources of authors,and the most profound theory of local journals.The close relationship between the compilation of local chronicles and literary activities in the Qing Dynasty is reflected in the identity of the creative subject,the mutual solubility of creative ideas,and the unity of the compilation of local chronicles and literary creation in practice.This article collated more than one hundred famous local literati literati and their typical local masterpieces in order to understand intuitively the prominent phenomena of the authors as writers at that time.At the same time,this chapter explains Jiao Xun's own compilation of local records and the basis of literary activities in terms of thought and practice.In terms of thinking,the experience of using the world and the theory of temperament are integrated in the relationship between Jiao Xun's local chronicles and literary activities.Jiao Xun attaches great importance to the social function of poetry and prose and the persuasive role of local records,and pays attention to the close connection between literature and temperament,which is fully reflected in Bei Hu Xiao Zhi.In practice,Jiao Xun's literary friendship and literary creation have a distinct local imprint;at the same time,his compilation of local history is also literary,which is prominently reflected in the selection of local history materials and the use of writing techniques,especially the combination of reviews in Bei Hu Xiao Zhi Form of praise.The third chapter discusses the literature expansion under the influence of Jiao Xun's local chronicles.This kind of literary expansion is shown in three aspects: the expansion of literary friendship,the enrichment of creative subjects and the increase of interest in history.Jiao Xun expanded his companionship because of the compilation of local records,and his content ranged from the compilation of Zhishu to other academic exchanges and daily life exchanges.Jiao Xun's local records compile and enrich his literary themes.The content of its poems,on the one hand,contains the mountain and river geography,natural scenery(flowers and trees),local customs,etc.which are more preferred by local scientist;on the other hand,it contains events related to the local records,such as the forty letters in the Litang Notes,Revealing Jiao Xun's sincere heartfelt thoughts,and can also glimpse the communication situation of literati local records at that time.Jiao Xun's increased interest in historiography in his literary creation is prominently reflected in his poetry.In his later period,he was fond of ancient Chinese poetry,and he integrated into the academic research process when he was annotating himself after the words,revealing the localist thinking of seeking truth again.The fourth chapter summarizes the influence of Jiao Xun's literary activities on thecompilation of local records.The literary works compiled and recorded by Jiao Xun's local records adhere to the principles of exquisite review and follow-up,and Jiao Xun's own essays have reference significance for the compilation of his local records.Jiao Xun's Bei Hu Xiao Zhi commentary combined form of praise embodies a distinct literary color.Its Jiao Xun yue style praise focuses on plain,natural,refined sentences,flexible form and literary editing function.In addition,Jiao Xun outlined the prosperous history of Beihu literature in Wang Najian's prosperity,which was initiated by Fan Quan,and many literati and celebrities participated together.In a word,this article intends to use the method of comprehensive study of local records and literature to take Jiao Xun's analysis of the relationship between the compilation of local records and literary activities as an example,with a view to revealing the relationship between local records compilation and literary activities in the context of the prosperity of local records compilation in Qing Dynasty Local studies and literature studies provide a new perspective.
