This study takes the compilation of vernacular textbooks in modern Jiangsu as a case study.Through literature research,textual analysis,and case studies,we discuss in detail the basic situation of the compilation of vernacular textbooks in modern Jiangsu,collect and select vernacular textbooks in modern Jiangsu,analyze the textual analysis of exemplary vernacular textbooks,and further explore to understand the specific contents of vernacular textbooks in Jiangsu as well as the principles of vernacular The course will explore the principles of compilation and the selection of texts.The basic theoretical issues related to vernacular textbooks are explored,and the theoretical study of vernacular textbooks is enriched by examining the emergence of vernacular textbooks and their development and evolution in modern Jiangsu.This study examines the compilation of vernacular textbooks in Jiangsu in the modern period,analyzes the collected vernacular textbooks,and briefly introduces their characteristics.Some representative texts from the vernacular textbooks with regional characteristics are selected for in-depth analysis.,such as Gaochun County Vernacular History,Jiangsu Vernacular History Textbook,and Wuxi Vernacular New Textbook.The main purpose is to examine the historical materials of modern Jiangsu vernacular textbooks and to analyze the compilation of modern Jiangsu vernacular textbooks based on the specific historical background of the time,analyzing the characteristics of their content and language,as well as the social status of the compilation of modern Jiangsu vernacular textbooks and what social effects it produced,its value and significance to the people,to the society,and to the country.Based on the continuous insights,it is clear that the compilation of Jiangsu vernacular textbooks in this modern historical period has its own regional characteristics and features,and that there are various groups of compilers,which are mostly the products of the continuous interaction between national policies,regional culture and the compilation of vernacular textbooks.In the modern period,vernacular education was in full swing in China,and the compilation of vernacular textbooks in Jiangsu Province was also developed,and the vernacular textbooks were conducive to guiding students from love of the country to love of the nation.The educational ideology of vernacular textbooks is constantly updated in response to various factors,such as the change of vernacular textbook compilation teams and the change of national education policies.We should fully understand the complexity of vernacular textbooks and realize that their connotations are closely related to the specific social environment in which they are located,the educational policies of the time period,and the educational problems they are intended to solve.The principles of compiling vernacular textbooks include ideological,scientific,local,and practical principles,etc.On this basis,the value concept and significance of compiling vernacular textbooks are elaborated,and it is because of these values and significance that vernacular textbooks are more thriving and more vital.Through the study of the history and theory of vernacular textbooks in modern Jiangsu,the author reflects on the problems that existed in the historical process of compiling vernacular textbooks in modern Jiangsu,and sheds light on the future development of vernacular textbook compilation in Jiangsu,hoping to contribute to future research on the compilation of vernacular textbooks.
