Vocabulary is an indispensable part of English learning.However,vocabulary acquisition has always been an insurmountable obstacle for English learners.In China,most English learners have no way to learn vocabulary.The boring vocabulary learning process aggravates the difficulty of vocabulary learning.As for middle school students,with the penetration of the new curriculum reform,English vocabulary learning needs not only to grasp the vocabulary form,but also to understand and use vocabulary accurately,paying more attention to the actual use of vocabulary,which further improves the students' requirements for English vocabulary learning,and is also a great challenge for teachers.Situational teaching method began to rise in China in the twentieth century,and then it was widely used in different disciplines and different learning stages of students.Constructivism is the theoretical basis of this method.The effectiveness of situational teaching method has been confirmed in various theoretical research and applied research.However,there are relatively few studies on the use of situational teaching method in vocabulary teaching in junior high school English classroom.Therefore,the author makes use of the opportunity of practice in middle school to study the effectiveness of situational teaching method in English vocabulary teaching in middle school.This paper uses questionnaire survey,classroom observation,test and interview to carry out the research.This paper investigates two parallel classes in the second grade of middle school in Hunan Province,in order to explore the effectiveness of situational teaching method in the teaching of English vocabulary in junior high school.On the basis of summarizing and reflecting in the actual teaching,this paper discusses the matters needing attention in the practical application of situational teaching method.Based on the above methods and comprehensive analysis,the conclusion is drawn:situational teaching method can improve students' interest in English learning;situational teaching method can improve students' vocabulary learning performance;through this study,the effectiveness of situational teaching method in junior high school English vocabulary teaching has been further confirmed,and teachers should use the creation of situational teaching method to carry out vocabulary under the requirements of the new curriculum reform.Teaching,in order to improve students' vocabulary learning efficiency and the ability to use vocabulary.
