Vocabulary is an important part of English Teaching in primary schools.Many researchers are committed to the study of English vocabulary.The “English New Curriculum Standard”(2011)promulgated by the Education Edition stipulates that students should reach Grade II when they graduate from primary school.The goal of secondary language knowledge is to know that vocabulary consists of letters and learn vocabulary according to the sound,shape,and meaning of vocabulary.However,in the vast rural areas,primary school English is not valued,primary school students have less access to English,and many students are reluctant to speak English.Therefore,researchers actively explore the application of situational teaching method in English vocabulary teaching in primary schools,but at present,the research on situational teaching method and vocabulary teaching in junior high schools and high schools is mostly,and there is less research on situational teaching and vocabulary teaching in rural primary schools.In this study,students from Class 1 Grade 5and Class 2 Grade 5 in Lin Huaigang Township,Huoqiu County,Luan City,Anhui Province were selected.The two classes were taught by the author.A comparative experiment was conducted in Class 1 Grade 5 as an experimental class and Class 2 as a control class.Through the methods of literature research and comparative research,a large amount of data was obtained.The experimental class adopted the “situational teaching method” teaching method while the control class adopted the traditional teaching method.Through questionnaires and interviews,the application of situational teaching method in English vocabulary teaching in primary school was analyzed,and the conclusion was reached.The first “situational teaching method” can improve the ability of primary school students to learn English vocabulary.The results of the experimental class students who implement the “situational teaching method” have significantly improved.The second “situational teaching method” is more conducive to stimulating students ' tendency to actively learn by using vivid and specific situations.Compared with the traditional teaching methods of the control class,students of the experimental class understand and remember vocabulary in the context,which is more conducive to giving play to the students' learning initiative and classroom participation,and promoting the optimization of teaching results.Therefore,situational teaching method is a classroom teaching method that conforms to primary school students.Third,the “situational teaching method” is specifically implemented in primary English vocabulary teaching.Learning noun vocabulary uses games,music,stories,and questions to help students understand and learn vocabulary.In the study of verbs and phrases,it is easier for students to use body movements,games to teach new vocabulary.This study reveals that situational teaching can not only enhance students interest in learning English,speed up the mastery of English vocabulary and deepen the understanding of English vocabulary,but also optimize the teaching effect to a certain extent.
