Utagawa Hiroshige was a famous painter of ukiyoe in the late Edo period in Japan. The main theme of his works is landscape painting. The charm of his landscape paintings lies in the unique combination of eastern perspective and western modern sense. In the process of inheriting the Japanese traditional art style and absorbing the western modern art,the unique natural feelings are formed. In essence,it embodies the aesthetic interest of the Japanese nation.By analyzing his most representative paintings,I try to interpret the "small" and "beautiful" in the Japanese art language implied in his works and I tried to explore the deep aesthetic concept under the "small”.This "smallness" is reflected in the subject matter, perspective and details of the painting. The "beauty" contained in the works conveys the aesthetic thought of Japan.I talk about my creative practice from three aspects: theme, composition and color.I reflected on the inspirations of Utagawa Hiroshige on the artistic language and thought and spirit of my series of works. My inspiration for creation comes from my life.By painting "small" and "beautiful" things around me,I find my own personal language in the practice of creation, reflect the introverted and implicit beauty of Oriental art,and express my thoughts on art and life through painting.
