From the perspective of metaphorology,this article studies the metaphorical image composition mechanism in contemporary expressive painting,focusing on the detailed analysis of contemporary expressive painting works,and proposes the metaphor in painting based on its own artistic practice and thinking.The concepts of interpretive metaphor and structural metaphor are used to better reveal the image composition mechanism of metaphor in expressive painting,and based on this,the interaction between the structural metaphor,explanatory metaphor and image composition language is summarized by combining the analysis of the works.The metaphorical mechanism of multi-level metaphor that appears in the image.The process of image formation of metaphor consists of three modules.Metaphorical image constitutes language / metaphoric image cognition / metaphorical image conception.These three parts are the three components of the image composition mechanism.Metaphor effect,this effect is the image composition mechanism of metaphor in expressive painting.What is the relationship between the three components and the three levels? multi-disciplinary joint research.During this period,a large number of studies benefited from previous scholars have laid a solid theoretical foundation for metaphorology,and provided a wealth of academic resources.Metaphor research can be used as an opportunity and a basis for development to make up for the deficiencies of metaphor research in the art field under the background of new research methods.In terms of research methods,this article mainly uses the methods of theoretical study,case study,and summary of art practice,and uses these parts in a comprehensive manner.The
