A Report On E-C Translation Of The Excerpts From A First Course In AI

Artificial intelligence is a strategic technology leading the future.As the most widely used part of artificial intelligence,natural language processing has realized deep integration in many fields.However,there are few researches on the translation of professional texts in the field of artificial intelligence,mainly focusing on the translation strategies of terms and abbreviations.The research on the translation strategies of sentences and texts needs to be strengthened.The source language text of this translation practice project is Chapter 16 of A First Course in AI compiled by Professor Deepak of Maradis University.The book mainly focuses on the technology needed in the process of natural language processing,the task of disambiguation and the specific application of the natural language processing.Under the guidance of Gideon Toury's theory of translation norms,this paper will discuss the corresponding Chinese translation strategies through case studies in terms of vocabulary,sentence and text deletion and chart translation.At the lexical level,according to the translation principles of technical English terms,the technical terms in the original text are unified,and the translation techniques of word meaning transformation,abstract extension and concrete extension are used to professionalize the meaning of common words;at the sentence level,the implicit logical relationship in the text is made explicit by the organic combination of various translation techniques: The method of adding translation terms and changing translation is used to make the implicit causal relationship explicit,and the method of combining translation and reverse translation is used to deal with the implicit conditional relationship.The dominance of tacit control is realized by repetition and division.Under the guidance of Matricial Norms,the original text is deleted and the chart formula are translated.The results of this paper can provide a reference for the theoretical research in the field of natural language processing in China and for the translation of theoretical texts of natural language processing.
