| This is a translation report based on the practice of translating Industrial Cybersecurity’s Chapters 4-6 written by Pascal Ackerman.The excerpts mainly explain the current effective technical means for maintaining the industrial control systems(ICS),including industrial control system risk assessment,the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture model,the Converged Plantwide Ethernet architecture,and the defense-in-depth model.Given that the source text is an informative text,the author has adopted Newmark’s translation theory of communicative translation and semantic translation to accomplish an accurate and fluent translation by using applicable translation techniques such as amplification,omission,annotation,and concrete.This report consists of six parts: the first part briefly introduces the background and significance of the translation project;the second part sorts out the relevant content of the source text and analyzes the text;the third part gives details of preparations before the translation practice;the fourth part comprehensively describes the implementation of the whole translation project,and points out the focuses,difficulties and corresponding solutions in the process;the fifth part is about case study involving the practice of combing translation theory and practice;the sixth part summarizes and learns the experiences and lessons through the practice.The fourth and fifth parts are the main contents of this report.Through this translation project,the author further realizes the guiding significance of combing Newmark’s communicative translation and semantic translation in high-quality scientific and technical translation,and comes to learn the latest trend of protecting ICS network security.It is hoped that this practice can serve as a reference for professionals and translators. |
