A Report On The Translation Of Preface Of All Is True Edited By The Norton Shakespeare

William Shakespeare is the most outstanding dramatist in the history of English literature,as well as one of the most important and greatest writers in the European Renaissance,the comprehensive synthesist of humanistic literature at that time.All Is True chose a special period in British social and political history as the background for dramatic action.It's a unique peorid of begining to shake off the influence of the Roman Catholic church and spreading of protestant ideas in British society.In dealing with this sensitive subject,the author did not give up serious thinking on the nature of kingship and religious tendency,and cast his own understanding into the dramatic image.This translation practice selects the preface of NORTON Shakespeare's historical play series All Is True written by the American author Stephen Greenblatt as the source text.In the translation practice of the foreword of this paper,the translator takes into account the translation purpose of the target text and the literariness of Shakespeare's works,and analyzes the original text and the target text with Nord's translation-oriented text analysis model.Based on the analysis of translation examples,this paper points out the guiding significance of Nord's translation-oriented text analysis model in the translation process.It also explains the translation from the three aspects of the translation of the original text: the intra-text factors,the extra-text factors and the translation skills.In the translation of the preface of a literary work,the analysis of the original text is helpful to guide the translation of the preface,so as to provide reference for the translation practice in the future.
