Error in Chinese sentence pause,stress and intonation is the main reason of the“Foreign accent”of Chinese learners.However,in the area of Chinese acquistion,the researches about teaching and learning Chinese rhythm are not enough to fit the need.Since the 21st centuty,more and more studies of Chinese rhythm are made,but the objects are mainly learners from Thailand,Vietnam and America,and acoustic experiments are not commonly used.This paper makes an investigation into the acquisition of prosody by primary,middle and high-leveled Korean students in China whose native language is Korean with the help of acoustic experiment.The paper based on the“Rubber Strap”theory by Zhao Yuanren and the“Three tiers inside three ties outside”by Wu Jiemin,mainly studies the Korean students'performance in Chinese sentence intonation,sentence stress and pause,and conducts a comparison with Chinese speakers.The experiment is comprised of oral test and listening test.After the experiment,the acoustic analysis and data statistics are carried out respectively by PRAAT software and EXCEL.The results show that Korean students'performance in the pause is proportional to their Chinese proficiency and movements of pitch at the end of a sentence is inversely proportional to Chinese speakers.Students could almost acquire interrogative tones whose focus tones at the end of a sentence are the first and second of the four tones as well as the falling-rising tone,however,have difficulty in acquiring interrogative tones whose focus tone at the end of a sentence is falling tone.Also,they tend to increase the length of the pitch to show the sentence stress.However,the length of pitch is much longer in the second tone and middle stressed sentence.This paper also puts forward the corresponding teaching strategies after the investigation into sentence tone,sentence stress and pause.As this is an explortory research,further investigations are needed.
