Study On The Concept Of Narrative Space

The concept of narrative space should be a fundamental issue in the study of narrative theory of “space turn”.Generally,however,this concept is not necessarily used explicitly in academia,and it is also confused with “space spatial” and “space narrative”.This thesis studies the concept of narrative space.Firstly,this thesis explains the connotation of narrative space,recognizes the unity of time and space,the pluralism of semantics and the construction of ideology embodied in it,and differentiates it from the similar concepts on the premise of its social practicality and extensiveness.Secondly,this thesis combines the classification of narrative space in academic circles,and puts this concept into the dichotomy of story and discourse,the dynamic overlapping partition of vertical and horizontal interweaving,and the material,psychological and social trichotomy commonly used in Chinese academic circles.Furthermore,this thesis points out that narrative space is not only unbounded in extensibility,but also unbounded in depth.Thirdly,this thesis makes a functional analysis of the narrative space in connection with other relevant factors of the narrative text,in order to deepen the understanding of the narrative space from the dynamic aspect,and regards it as an angle to examine the existence of human beings and human life experience.This thesis holds that the study of the concept of narrative space can broaden the scope of new problems in narrative research and absorb new methods from interdisciplinary theories.In addition,the theoretical consciousness of conceptual research is necessary for the refinement,deepening and systematization of narrative space theory,which has important theoretical significance.
