| Attentional resource is generally limited in capacity,increasing attention resources input to one task may impair the processing of another task.However,recent research has reported a surprising variation to this pattern of processing of dual tasks,suggesting that detecting a target in a dual-task paradigm actually facilitated memory encoding for a concurrently presented stimulus,an effect labeled the Attentional Boost Effect(ABE).In this study,Experiment 1 adopted the learning-test paradigm,combined with targeted detection.By setting different overlapped time between detection stimulus and memory stimulus,as well as various time intervals between learning and testing at the encoding phase,we attempted to explore the influence of presenting time of the targeted detection stimulus on ABE,we attempted to explore the influence of presenting time of the targeted detection stimulus on ABE.The results showed that ABE was not limited by the presenting time of the targeted detection stimulus.In order to investigate the mechanism of ABE under different presenting time of detection stimulus,Experiment 2 combined with the technology of event-related potentials(ERP)on the basis of experiment 1.The result revealed that there was no significant difference in the ERP performance of ABE between the condition of 100 ms and 500 ms,and the significant difference between target words and distractor words was reflected on P300.For the purpose of excluding stress reaction,Experiment 3 prolonged the overlapped time between the detection stimulus and memory stimulus to 1500 ms.The result indicated that ABE was not affected by the presenting time of the targeted detection stimulus again.In conclusion,those results showed that,as long as targeted detection stimulus and memory stimulus were overlapped in presenting time,ABE would exist in different overlapped time of detection stimulus and memory stimulus,which indicated that this effect is not restricted to the presenting time of the targeted detection stimulus,and perform a long-term effect. |
