The literary of“The Standard”[1]during the War of Liberation was in the form of literary supplement group.They would criticize each other on literary and artistic issues,and also cooperate with each other in actual struggles,so they are inextricably linked.There are a variety of editors,editorial guidelines and writers works,which not only focuses on a group of elite intellectuals,but also attract the eyes of public readers,truly achieving each has its own merits,consider comprehensively and stand out the emphases.In terms of creation,Huang Shang's essays about discussing traditional drama and Tang Tao's prose in remarking on books have found their own way in the literary supplement of“The Standard”,and the history of modern prose.In terms of ideology,it has not only the genre of essays in the“Isolated-Island”period,but also the left-of-center thought tendency,as well as the Shanghai culture in both entertainment and fighting.These seeming incompatible ideas collide and blend with each other and coexist in“The Standard”,a no-party-no-clique folk newspapers,which truly achieves plural-coexist and appeals to both cultured and popular tastes.Only by breaking through the research mode of a single literary supplement and taking multiple literary supplements of“The Standard”as a whole to discuss the way of their existence and the characteristics of their generation,can this unique literary landscape which is breakthroughs in editing,innovation in creation,and openness and inclusiveness in thinking presents another look of the development of Shanghai newspapers and periodicals in the mid-to-late 1940s.
