A Report On Consecutive Interpreting For Beijing International Mineral And Jewelry Exhibition

Since the reform and opening up,China's social and economic aspects have undergone earth-shaking changes.At the same time,the economic and cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world have become increasingly close,making translation enter an unprecedented stage of development.Especially since the beginning of the 21 st century,interpreting has played a pivotal role in the aspects of international politics,economy,culture and education.However,it is not easy to be a qualified interpreter.The interpreters need to have a solid language foundation and master certain theoretical knowledge.Besides,the interpreters also need to do a lot of practical exercises,in order to cultivate the ability of combining theory and practice,handling unexpected events and regulating emotions and psychology.Little by little,their understanding of interpreting work will be enhanced and their professional quality will be improved.Based on this,the author makes the following report from the perspective of Cooperative Principle,taking the consecutive interpreting for the 2018 Beijing International Mineral and Jewelry Exhibition as an example.It mainly analyzes the preparation,execution and feedback of the interpreting tasks,so as to have a deeper understanding of the interpreting work.Through the case analysis and case summary,the author aims to describe and analyze the specific application of the Cooperative Principle in the choice of interpreting strategies.This report consists of four parts: the first part is a detailed description of the whole project;the second part describes the process of interpreting;the third part is case study of the project;the final part is an in-depth summary of the interpreting.
