It is well known that class is the major way to implement education.The efficiency of students’ learning and the effectiveness of the class teaching are closely related.However,class teaching is far from being satisfactory in China.The reason is that in class,teachers are the center and there is no cooperative interaction between teachers and students or there is no interaction among students,which is based on cooperative learning.Recently,scholars at home and abroad made a great deal of research on interactive teaching based on cooperative learning.These researches,however,have seldom brought an optimized strategy in cooperative strategies in listening and speaking.Therefore,there isn’t too much research results concerning cooperative learning in English listening and speaking.The research tries to explore the effects of cooperative learning on English listening and speaking in junior English class.The research aims to solve two problems.First,can cooperative learning enhance students’ interest in English listening and speaking? Second,does cooperative learning have positive effects on English listening and speaking achievements of junior middle school students? The dissertation adopts the form of an empirical study.It explores the effects of cooperative learning on English listening and speaking through the methodology of questionnaire,pretest,posttest and interviews.During 12 weeks of teaching experiments,experimental class will use cooperative learning method to learn listening and speaking while the control class will use the traditional learning method.The questionnaire investigation is to learn about the influences on students’ overall interest in English listening and speaking learning,the pretest is to text the beginning levels of English listening and speaking of the two classes,the posttest is to compare the grades of the two classes after the teaching experiment,and the interview is to learn about the students’ interest in cooperative learning.The research adopts SPSS and EXCEL to analyze the data collected in the research process.The research result shows that cooperative learning method has some advantages and effects in learners’ English listening and speaking in junior middle schools,and that the cooperative learning method can enhance students’ interest in listening and speaking and have positive effects on English listening and speaking.According to the research result,there are also some problems in the process of adopting learning method,such as the teaching order being easily disturbed,a lack of teaching time and so on.The problems need attention and solution. |
