The development of information technology has provided technical support for the development and integration of curriculum resources.It has been very popular that new teaching techniques and integration of resources help to assist English teaching.As a new type of teaching resource and teaching form,micro-class can provide learning support for students through web-based learning service platform and mobile terminal,and it has been gradually used in English teaching.This paper mainly discusses the influence of micro-class on junior high school students' English listening and speaking ability.According to the requirements of the English Proficiency Test for junior middle school students,this study operationalizes the junior middle school students' English listening and speaking ability into listening and speaking scores.The study mainly answers the following two questions: 1.How do micro-classes impact the junior students' English listening and speaking ability? 2.What are the impacts of using micro-class on the students' listening and speaking interests?A quasi-experiment was conducted in the study,supplemented by questionnaires,and interviews to collect the research data.The subjects were 84 students from two parallel classes(Class 5 and Class 6),Grade 9 in Yuxi No.8 Middle School.Class 5was the experimental class and Class 6 was the contrast class.There are 42 students in Class 5 and they are taught by using the micro-class assisted teaching.Students took micro-classes before and after the new class at home for the preview and review of listening and speaking teaching content.Students in Class 6 were taught by using the normal English teaching method,they weren't taught with the micro-class assisted teaching.After one-term's micro-class assisted teaching,it has followed that 1.According to the results of pretest and post-test of listening and speaking English,English micro-class assisted teaching could improve junior middle school students' English listening and speaking ability.2.Based on the results of interviews and questionnaires,students actively participated in micro-classEnglish teaching,and showed more interest in learning English;the students' participation and involvement in English learning improved greatly.
