Novalis,as one of the representative figures of the early romantic school in Germany, has an important influence in the German ideological circle. He integrated philosophy with poetry to form a unique philosophical poetics.Novalis' s poetics is philosophical poetics, and his philosophy is also poetic philosophy.Novalis is such a poet who makes metaphysical analysis of literary poetry from the perspective of philosophy. He has formed his unique philosophical poetics view in the philosophical thinking rich in aesthetic temperament,so his poetics can be called philosophical poetics.Novalis' s poetry is for life.It aims to solve people's existing confusion and save them from the general spiritual crisis. At present, people are faced with problems such as alienation of their own and emptiness of their inner spiritual world.Rereading novalis is not only a correction to the neglect and misunderstanding of the past, but also an inspiration for people to seek a meaningful life. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is intended to trace the background and theoretical source of Novalis' philosophical poetics.Novalis lived in the era of the development of the enlightenment and the outbreak of the French Revolution.Growing up at the end of the 18 th century,Novalis felt deeply that the development of the bourgeoisie and the implementation of rationality had brought about the emancipation of the mind,as well as the separation and alienation of the state of life under the technological civilization and the rigidity of rationality. The development of German classical philosophy, especially the appearance of Fichte's subjective idealism, provided necessary theoretical nourishment for the formation of Novalis' poetics. All of these urge Novalis to "go to the heart",to seek the romantic world and life through poetry, and to form his own unique philosophical poetics thought. The second part is to analyze and explain the theoretical connotation of novalis' s philosophical poetics.Firstly, starting from the part of novalis' s poetics with the characteristics of philosophy and poetics,"romanticized" poetry,super-logical "thinking" and "homesickness" narrative constitute the prominent characteristics of his philosophical poetics.Secondly, the interpretation of "to the heart" in novalis' philosophical poetics.Novalis emphasizes that "to the heart" includes looking inward as well as outward. The last part is an analysis of transcendental images in his poetics, including night and death, love and religion.Novalis' use of these two transcendental images and his interpretation of the relationship between them also deeply reflects his philosophical poetics. The third part discusses the significance and limitations of Novalis' philosophical poetics.Novalis reflected deeply on the absolute rational rule of the society at that time, and tried to resolve the crisis. His poetic thought not only caused extensive discussion in the German thought circle at that time, but also had a profound influence on the philosophy, literature and other fields of later Germany and even the whole Europe.Novalis is not only the pioneer of the times, but also the seeder of pollen.Although many of his thoughts ended up being just fantasies,on the whole, his philosophical poetics is a wake-up to our consciousness of existence, which inspires us to find the initial source of life, transcend from the limited real world, and pursue a higher life and poetic life.
