The Belief Of Huoxingshengmu:Emotional Catharsis And Spiritual Comfort In Scenes,Rituals And Entertainment

The faith of ‘HuoXingShengMu' in Huozhou city has a very strong regional character.The ceremonious degree of the birth ceremony of the ‘HuoXingShengMu' has surpassed that of the 15 th day of the first month of each year.Among the relevant documents retrieved,only a few articles refer to the Temple of ‘HuoXingShengMu' and are mostly simplistic descriptions.No in-depth analysis and research have been found.The faith of ‘HuoXingShengMu' has great deficiencies in both data collection and academic research.Based on many field investigations,the author combined the research methods of theories of art,folklore,anthropology,and sociology to investigate and study the faith of ‘HuoXingShengMu' in Huozhou.Study this belief,on the one hand,the author organized and recorded these activities,leaving a detailed written information for the Temple of ‘HuoXingShengMu',and also providing some ideas for its protection,inheritance and development.On the other hand,taking it as a case study,it shows the development status of folk beliefs in contemporary local society and explores the internal emotional factors that support the inheritance of folk beliefs through appearances.The geographical and cultural space in Huozhou is the basis for the belief activities,the legend of the faith of ‘HuoXingShengMu' is the folk environment for its existence,the Temple provides a material environment for the belief,Huozhou people's universal belief in it has provided a humanistic environment for it.The combination of various factors constitutes its ecosystem and is the basis for its survival and development.In the belief activities,folk belief and folk art activities use the Temple of ‘HuoXingShengMu' as the center for mutual assistance.Folk belief activities provide a performance venue for folk art,and folk art provides emotional support for folk belief,there is a benign interactive relationship between the two.The combination of scenes,ceremonies and entertainment enables its culture system to be inherited and developed.There is emotional interaction such as spiritual comfort and emotional catharsis between belief activities and artistic activities.When different individuals in the local society are united into a community because of the same belief,the community educates individuals inward,strengthens the centripetal force within its community,forms a community culture,and influences the people around it outward with the community culture to maintain social stability.With the expansion of communityinfluence,belief festivals gradually become folk festivals,and belief culture is derived into the folk culture of the region.With the exchange and development of society,it affects neighboring regions,enabling the development of folk culture with local characteristics,which in turn protects and inherits its belief core.
